Job summary

NordLayer is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our SRE team in Warsaw, focused on scaling infrastructure and resilience. You will design hybrid systems, automate with Terraform and Puppet/Ansible, and maintain our network stack while collaborating with product and other engineering teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on Linux, AWS, IaC, and CI/CD with GitLab CI, plus a keen interest in applying AI tools to streamline operations and incident response.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Linux systems/infrastructure experience.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IPv4, routing, bridging, proxies, DNS).
• Practical experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, ECS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab CI preferred).
• Scripting in Bash and Python to automate operational work.
• Strong interest in applying AI tools to real infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain hybrid infrastructure spanning on-prem and AWS cloud.
• Evolve Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management across environments.
• Maintain and improve the platform's network stack, routing, load balancing, and security features.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) to support delivery.
• Participate in incident response and contribute to postmortems to improve reliability.
• Explore and apply AI tools to automate toil and improve tooling and response.
• Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to translate needs into infrastructure solutions.
• Propose and implement improvements to how the team works.
