Brown Brothers Harriman in Kraków is hiring a SQL Developer to join our global technology team in the Alternatives group. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases and related applications within an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of SQL Server experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating across locations.

• Implement data validation, error handling, and security controls
• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases and apps
• Design, modify, and troubleshoot queries, views, functions, and procedures
• Assist with performance tuning and optimization initiatives
• Translate business requirements into technical database solutions
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders globally
• Investigate and resolve production issues promptly

Join us as a SQL Developer

Location: Kraków

Hybrid model: Hybrid model 3 days per week in the office /2 days for a parent of a child up to 4 years old

About the team:

We are seeking a motivated SQL Developer to join our global technology team in Alternatives group. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a solid foundation in Microsoft SQL Server development and database management. The successful candidate will work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with team members across multiple geographic locations. The SQL Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions that support business and operational objectives. The individual should be comfortable working in an Agile environment and committed to producing high-quality, reliable solutions.

In our team, you will be responsible for:

• Use database change-management and deployment practices to promote schema and code changes safely across development, test, and production environments.
• Implement data validation, error handling, transaction management, and appropriate database security controls to protect data integrity.
• Develop, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases and related applications
• Design, create, modify, and troubleshoot SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures
• Assist with database management, performance tuning, and optimization initiatives
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical database solutions
• Perform unit testing and support system integration testing activities
• Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders across a global team
• Investigate and resolve production issues in a timely manner

What we’re looking for:

• At least 2 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including:
• Stored Procedures, views, and functions
• Joins and query optimization
• Transactions, error handling, and concurrency concepts
• Indexes, execution plans, statistics, and common performance bottlenecks
• Data modeling, normalization, constraints, and referential integrity
• Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Understanding of database performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working as part of a geographically distributed or global team
