Job summary

Kongsberg NanoAvionics is seeking a curious Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of nano and micro satellites and their mechanical subsystems in Poland. You will design, analyze, and test hardware, support pre-contract feasibility studies, and collaborate with simulation teams and suppliers.

Requirements include a degree in mechanical/mechatronics/aerospace engineering and at least 2 years of SolidWorks experience, GD&T proficiency, and good English (B1).

Qualifications

• Passion for space engineering and a desire to learn fast.
• Degree in mechanical/mechatronics/aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Good understanding of machine elements, materials, manufacturing, mechanics and heat transfer.
• At least 2 years of experience in 3D modelling with SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Experience with 2D engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Support business development with preliminary satellite layout and feasibility studies at pre-contract stage.
• Design and develop satellites and their mechanical subsystems.
• Design static and dynamic parts and mechanisms.
• Prepare CAD geometry for FEA and assist simulation engineers.
• Participate in design reviews and present work to colleagues and customers.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings and arrange manufacturing with external suppliers.
• Perform simple structural and thermal calculations to justify design decisions.
• Design testing equipment for satellites and subsystems.
• Process test data, analyze results, write reports, and manage test documentation.
