Job summary

Galvion is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Commodity Management professional in Poland to lead sourcing for engineered components and complex commodities. You will manage RFQs, supplier qualification, negotiations and cross-functional alignment to secure supply and optimize total cost of ownership.

The role requires international supplier exposure, strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–8+ years in mechanical product engineering, sourcing and supplier development.
  • Experience with soft goods, plastics, casting, machining, forging and tooling.
  • Experience with international suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation and trade-compliance understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technically complex commodities.

  • Ensure gate process compliance and risk assessment for supplier approvals.

Job description

Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technically complex commodities including soft goods, plastic injection molding, casting, machining, forging, tooling, electronic and other engineered components.
  • Support market analysis and supplier identification through RFQ, supplier evaluation, negotiation, qualification and final supplier approval.
  • Follow and enforce Galvion's Sourcing Gate process, ensuring all required technical, commercial, quality, capacity, trade compliance and risk-assessment steps are completed before a supplier is approved and awarded business.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions are supported by documented gate review, cross-functional alignment and clear approval criteria at each stage of the sourcing process.
  • Develop cost, supplier and risk analysis focused on total cost of ownership, competitiveness, capacity and supply chain resilience.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, dual sourcing, localization and supplier consolidation.
  • Assess supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, capacity and scalability.
  • Lead supplier qualification, production readiness, tooling reviews, FATs and new supplier industrialization in collaboration with Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Develop and monitor supplier improvement plans covering cost, quality, delivery and capacity.
  • Partner closely with Product Engineering and Product Design to source and industrialize new products, components and manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing requirements and translate them into clear supplier requirements.
  • Support DFM, tooling and manufacturing process discussions to optimize cost, quality and manufacturability.
Strategic Supplier Selection & Commercial Management
  • Support the evaluation and selection of strategic suppliers, balancing technical capability, quality, cost competitiveness, capacity, flexibility, scalability, geographic risk and long-term strategic fit.
  • Lead complex RFQs and negotiate commercial agreements that secure the right long-term partner for Galvion, including pricing, lead times, capacity commitments, tooling, MOQs, payment terms and other key commercial conditions.
  • Develop long-term supply agreements and partnership structures that provide competitive pricing while securing sufficient capacity, flexibility and responsiveness to support Galvion's growth over the coming years.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and establish clear expectations around capacity growth, continuous improvement, quality, delivery and cost competitiveness.
International Sourcing & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Develop and leverage a network of manufacturing suppliers in Europe, Asia-Pacific , Africa or other international markets outside the Americas and identify opportunities to strengthen Galvion's global supply base.
  • Knowledge of country specific sourcing practices, market conditions, trade requirements and relevant regulatory considerations.
  • Support cross-functional sourcing projects involving Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance and Product Development.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in mechanical product engineering, sourcing, supplier development.
  • Strong Knowledge in the following commodities: soft goods, plastic injection molding, electronic, casting, machining, forging and tooling manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technically complex commodities and manufacturing suppliers.
  • Experience working directly with international suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of trade compliance requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Experience working with Arena or any other PLM.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SharePoint and Excel
  • Basic knowledge with ERP.
