Job summary

GMV is expanding its Defence sector with a strategic project for Frontex in Europe. The Solutions Architect will define and govern the architecture of large-scale systems, translating business and technical requirements into scalable and secure solutions.

The role requires experience in SOA/ESB, microservices, distributed systems, and Agile leadership. You will mentor teams, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to architecture governance while supporting planning and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years in software architecture for large-scale enterprise systems.
• Proven expertise in designing enterprise software using SOA/ESB and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems including event-driven architectures, Kafka, GraphQL APIs and Redis.
• Experience in Agile (Scrum) environments and leading technical discussions.
• Ability to mentor development teams and communicate with stakeholders.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

You will be joining a strategic project for a European institution, linked to security and border control activities within the scope of FRONTEX. The project aims to develop a new generation of systems capable of reporting and disseminating information on incidents in real time. The solution will implement the new requirements set out in the regulation recently adopted by the European Commission.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Defining and maintaining the solution architecture: Designing the overall system architecture, translating business, functional and technical requirements into scalable and secure architectural solutions
• Designing system interoperability and integration: Defining interfaces between system components and external platforms, ensuring interoperability across distributed systems, selecting appropriate integration patterns and technologies, and maintaining architectural consistency throughout the system lifecycle
• Leading architectural governance and technology selection: Establishing architecture standards and best practices, evaluating technologies and solution alternatives
• Supporting system planning and software development: Estimating software development activities, analysing existing systems, contributing to solution design and change management and ensuring the solution remains scalable, maintainable and aligned with business objectives
• Producing technical documentation and providing technical leadership: Preparing architectural documentation and technical presentations, communicating architectural decisions to stakeholders, mentoring development teams

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with:

• A Higher education degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 7 years of proven professional experience in software development, including at least 2 years in software architecture for large-scale enterprise systems
• Proven expertise in designing enterprise software solutions based on service-oriented architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) concepts and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, including event-driven architectures, Apache Kafka, GraphQL APIs and Redis, with experience integrating complex software systems.
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum), ability to lead technical discussions, define architectural standards, mentor development teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
