Job summary

Commerzbank is seeking a Cobol Software Engineer in Łódź to join an international Agile team. You will develop and maintain host IT systems for data collection and information transformation in stock exchange processes.

The role involves end-to-end lifecycle Work on complex Cobol tasks, preparing builds, and rolling out releases in production. English (B2) is required, and hybrid/remotely friendly work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• High knowledge of Cobol mainframe development.
• Strong experience with IDZ environment and IBM DB2.
• Good understanding of JCL and mainframe components.
• Proficient in analytical and process-oriented thinking.
• English at B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Cobol/Mainframe applications for securities management.
• Analyze, design, implement, and test interfaces with Cobol systems.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to rollouts in production.

Join our team as a Software Engineer Cobol (m/f/d)!

In an international Agile team of 60 IT specialists (Dev, Test, Operations, POs, BA, Scrum), you will implement the customer requirements into new software solutions. As a Cobol Software Engineer you will be responsible for development of host IT system, which are used by business for data collection and information transformation in stock exchange process.

Description of the cluster:

The Securities Process Cluster is responsible for supporting all securities processes in the bank: starting from the securities order of our clients to different exchanges, through settlement to transaction execution. Also asset services, dividend payments, tax issues etc. are part of the new agile Securities Process Cluster. Our mission: Provide the best stable, fastest and most flexible prozess to our clients; react quick and agile to the customer needs.

You will be responsible for

You are involved in all steps in the lifecycle of a software development starting with

• Develop and maintain a Cobol and Mainframe based applications for management of security accounts and trading of Commerzbank
• Analysis, solution design, implementation and testing (unit & integration) of interfaces to other IT systems based on Cobol and Mainframe.
• Work on complex programming tasks in the team of specialists.
• Prepare software builds, release packages and the rollouts in production
• Work in Agile environment, participate in scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Review, Retro).
• Implement AI based solutions into Cobol and Mainframe environment.

The team itself consists of business analysts, software architects, scrum masters and other specialists with diverse backgrounds, but working together and developing the best solutions for our customers.
