Commerzbank Digital Technology Centre Poland in Łódź is seeking a Cobol Software Engineer to join an international Agile team and develop host IT systems for securities processing.

You will implement customer requirements, design interfaces, perform testing, and participate in Scrum ceremonies, with opportunities to apply AI solutions in Cobol/Mainframe.

Proficiency in Cobol, JCL, IBM DB2, IDZ, and English at B2 level is required; hybrid work at Ogrodowa 8 is available.

Qualifications

• High proficiency in Cobol mainframe development.
• Experience with IDZ development environment.
• Strong knowledge of IBM DB2.
• Familiarity with mainframe-relevant components.
• Understanding of software development process models; analytical and conceptual skills.
• Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language).
• English level at B2 or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Cobol and Mainframe-based applications for security accounts and trading.
• Analyze, design, implement and test interfaces to other IT systems using Cobol and Mainframe.
• Handle complex programming tasks in a specialized team.
• Prepare software builds, release packages and production rollouts.
• Work in an Agile environment and participate in Scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Review, Retro).
• Explore and implement AI-based solutions within Cobol and Mainframe environments.

Join our team as a Software Engineer Cobol (m/f/d)!

In an international Agile team of 60 IT specialists (Dev, Test, Operations, POs, BA, Scrum), you will implement the customer requirements into new software solutions. As a Cobol Software Engineer you will be responsible for development of host IT system, which are used by business for data collection and information transformation in stock exchange process.

Description Of The Cluster

The Securities Process Cluster is responsible for supporting all securities processes in the bank: starting from the securities order of our clients to different exchanges, through settlement to transaction execution. Also asset services, dividend payments, tax issues etc. are part of the new agile Securities Process Cluster.

Our mission: Provide the best stable, fastest and most flexible prozess to our customers; react quick and agile to the customer needs.

You will be responsible for

• Develop and maintain a Cobol and Mainframe based applications for management of security accounts and trading of Commerzbank
• Analysis, solution design, implementation and testing (unit & integration) of interfaces to other IT systems based on Cobol and Mainframe.
• Work on complex programming tasks in the team of specialists.
• Prepare software builds, release packages and the rollouts in production
• Work in Agile environment, participate in scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Review, Retro).
• Implement AI based solutions into Cobol and Mainframe environment.
