Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a skilled Desktop C++/Qt/QML developer to join a cross-functional Scrum team building a clinical-focused Core solution within a large software framework.

You will implement new functionality, perform code refactors, and write unit tests, while collaborating with UX analysts and seniors; daily progress updates are expected, and periodic travel to Belgium is planned every 1.5–2 months.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Software Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing desktop applications with C++ and Qt/QML.
• Proven track record building user-facing desktop frontends within large frameworks.
• Strong C++/Qt/QML knowledge for desktop GUI development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Scrum team to implement new functionality.

Job description

Our client is a large international enterprise developing and maintaining a clinical-focused Core solution as part of a broader software suite.

The project is centered around the continuous development and enhancement of a complex software platform built within an existing large framework, with a strong focus on stability, performance, and maintainability.

The role involves working as part of a cross-functional Scrum team, collaborating closely with software engineers, UX analysts, and senior team members to implement new functionality, improve existing components, and ensure reliable operation of the solution.

Responsibilities:

• Work together with other Scrum team members on a project within the client's software suite
• Participate in Scrum planning sessions by analyzing the work to be done
• Implement new functionality or code refactors based on detailed specifications and mock-ups
• Closely work together with other development team members and a UX analyst
• Discuss technical design with senior team members when needed
• Participate in writing unit tests for newly developed functionality
• Participate in performing code reviews
• Report work progress on a daily basis
• Focus on bug fixing when needed
• Regular business trips to Belgium for 1 week every 1.5-2 months

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Master degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent through experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing desktop applications with C++ and Qt/QML (preferably not embedded or automotive only)
• Proven track record of building user-facing desktop frontends within large, complex frameworks (enterprise or widely used commercial software)
• Strong knowledge of C++ and Qt/QML for desktop GUI development (widgets, layouts, event handling, data binding)
• Experience with desktop application workflows (multi-window UIs, dialogs, data models, user interactions)
• Knowledge of 3D rendering (OpenGL, Vulkan, …) is a plus, but frontend Qt/QML experience is the priority
• Open and good communicator
• Ability to work independently and know when to lift or discuss challenges or identified issues
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
