Job summary

Astek in Kraków is seeking an experienced software engineer for a flight-travel platform. The project processes thousands of transactions per second across cloud servers, with C++ as the core language, and a complex business logic stack. The role offers hybrid work with three days on-site in Cracow.

You will develop, optimize and maintain high-performance software, collaborate with architects and PMs, and contribute to design decisions while staying up-to-date with new technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Experience in fast-paced software development in Agile environment.
• Expertise in advanced C++ programming and solutioning.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of CMake, STL, Boost libraries, MPL, OO design and design patterns.
• Knowledge of database programming.
• Proficient in English; Polish on communicative level.

Position

We're currently looking for a candidate for our client in the technology industry.

Project: One handling flight travel requests from travel agents, online agencies, and airlines, to empower their search engines and agents to offer the most convenient flight options in the lowest price. This complex organism consists of several components developed mainly in C++, maintains a rate over 7,000 transactions per second and is hosted on 3000+ servers in the cloud. The complexity of business logic requires constant focus on code, design optimization and staying in touch with newest technologies to manage growing demand for processing power and low response times. Type of work: hybrid from Cracow 3 days per week preferred (we are also open to remote arrangements).

Salary offered

1200 - 1500 PLN NET MD (we are open for MID+/Senior/Team Lead)

You will be successful in this role if:

• You have at least 5 years of related experience
• Experience in fast paced Software Development in Agile environment.
• Expertise in advanced C++ programming and solutioning
• Knowledge of programming in UNIX/Linux environment
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Very good knowledge of CMake, STL, Boost libraries, MPL, object-oriented design, and design patterns
• Knowledge of database programming
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal, and Polish on a communicative level
• Self-disciplined and commitment-oriented
