Ring in Gdańsk seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a 12-person firmware team responsible for embedded software powering Ring and Blink cameras and doorbells. You will own the release train, shepherd feature development to sustaining releases, and drive a common platform across products.
You will mentor engineers, establish clear expectations and growth plans, and collaborate with product, TPM, QA and hardware teams across Poland and the US to align roadmaps and performance metrics.
As a Software Development Manager at Ring, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers working on embedded software and firmware used in Ring and Blink devices. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with other platform, hardware, operations, user-space, and quality assurance teams.
Ring and Blink devices sit on millions of front doors and in millions of homes. Your team builds and sustains the firmware behind those cameras and doorbells: the code that wakes a battery-powered device, streams video over wireless links, and updates itself in the field without a visit from a technician. Your decisions reach customers directly, from what ships in the next over-the-air release to when a rollout is stopped.
Ring & Blink Firmware in Gdańsk is a 150+ engineer organisation building the firmware for Ring and Blink cameras, doorbells and sync modules sold worldwide. This team owns the firmware platform and the releases for launched products. We value ownership, decisions backed by data, and engineers who operate with AI agents as part of how they build, review and test. The manager is part of that team, works with the same tools, and sets the direction for how far AI takes the team next.
