Job description

The RAN (Radio Access Network) Performance organization is responsible for systemising, designing, implementing, and testing software 5G features. The unit is responsible for the baseband SW within the 5G product. We are now creating a product responsible organization in Krakow, Poland, with one L2/Scheduler section focused on 5G. We are looking for senior designers to help us drive development of 5G UPC (User Plane Control) – often identified as the brain of the telecommunication system. You will be part of a world‑class organization with some of the leading experts in the industry – you will join the baseband scheduler department and work with one of the most complex embedded systems in the world.

What you will do:

• Develop new features for the 5G RAN participating in all design phases from early studies and design to receiving feedback on the functionality from our customers and live networks
• Work with UPC SW architecture changes to prepare for the scheduler feature roadmap
• Work with improving quality of the scheduling software
• Collaborate with architects to discuss architecture details/concerns
• Implementation of UPC domain care backlog items
• Thrive when driving technology leadership

The skills you bring:

• Embedded software development with experience from Baseband L1/L2 development in C/C++
• At least 3-4 years' experience in development of real-time embedded systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• General programming skills is an advantage, e.g. Python
• Knowledge of 5G and LTE (4G) standards (3GPP) is an advantage
• Clean code programming style and mindset
• Experience in defining product architecture or complex implementation proposals is appreciated
• MSc/Bsc level in a technical subject area or the equivalent level of knowledge
• Keen interest in the long-term evolution and success of the Baseband SW product
• Find it stimulating with teamwork and be part of a global organization
• Good English language skills in both writing and conversation is require
