Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Platform Architect to join our Data Office and help reduce friction in deploying and operating data platforms. You will work within the Data Platform Architecture Pillar to ensure platforms are robust, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

The role requires 3+ years in data platform engineering/architecture, strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and expertise in scripting and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or operations.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architecture patterns (data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, data estates).
• Experience deploying, supporting, and operating scalable, secure, high-availability data platforms.
• Strong communication skills for documenting solutions and collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for operational excellence and process improvement.
• Proficiency with scripting, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, BiCep).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and platform monitoring tools.
• Experience in a Center of Excellence or shared service environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize platform strategies and architectural patterns within the Data Platform Pillar.
• Organize and facilitate activities in the Center of Excellence for data platforms as SME.
• Identify friction points in deployment and operations and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with platform engineering and management to align solutions with requirements.
• Develop and refine platform deployment frameworks, automation scripts, and playbooks.
• Monitor platform performance and provide guidance on best practices.
• Document and promote standards, templates, and reusable assets from the CoE.
• Assist in evaluating new data platform technologies, tools, and services.
• Provide training and support to platform users and stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement by collecting feedback and refining processes and standards.
• Meet with vendors to discuss roadmaps and feature gaps.
