Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Platform Architect to join the Data Office and support the Data Platform Architecture Pillar. You will lead architecture initiatives, standardize deployment patterns, and foster collaboration across platform stakeholders in a Center of Excellence.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, scalable data platforms, and close engagement with engineering teams to reduce friction in deployment and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or operations
• Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data patterns
• Experience deploying and operating scalable, secure, high-availability data platforms
• Proficient in scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible/CF)
• Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams

Responsibilities

• Operationalize platform strategies and architectural patterns for the Pillar
• Organize and facilitate CoE activities for data platforms as SME
• Identify friction points in deployment and operations and implement solutions
• Collaborate with platform engineering/management to align solutions
• Develop and refine deployment frameworks, automation scripts, and playbooks
• Monitor platform performance and provide guidance on best practices
• Document and promote standards, templates, and reusable assets
• Evaluate and integrate new data platform technologies and services
• Provide training and support to platform users and stakeholders
• Gather feedback to refine processes and standards
• Meet with vendors to discuss roadmaps and gaps
