Job summary

RS is seeking a Principal Data Architect to define and drive the Snowflake-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This leadership role combines hands-on architectural expertise, governance, and line management of Data Architects within the Group Data function.

You will partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, BI, Data Governance, and stakeholders to shape a data ecosystem that delivers trusted insights and business value across RS’s global footprint.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior or lead Data Architecture role.
• Deep expertise in cloud data platforms, ideally Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling and ELT/ETL architectures.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring.
• Fluent English with strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the Snowflake-based Enterprise Data Platform architecture.
• Lead the technical strategy for the modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Airbyte).
• Ensure scalable, secure, cost-efficient data platform for analytics and decision-making.
• Provide hands-on leadership in data modelling, pipeline design, orchestration, and platform Optimisation.
• Lead and develop a team of Data Architects, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Guide solution design to align with enterprise standards.
• Drive transformations and platform evolution for large-scale migrations.
• Champion AI-powered capabilities to improve engineering efficiency and outcomes.
