You will drive Industry 4.0 initiatives from plant floor to enterprise level, ensuring minimal downtime and robust cyber defenses. The role requires hands-on automation experience, Rockwell ecosystem mastery, and strong collaboration with IT and engineering teams to deliver ambitious security and data
We are seeking a Site Automation & OT Security Lead for one of our clients, a world-renowned global FMCG and food manufacturing leader. This position is a high-priority contract engagement focused on overseeing, optimizing, and securing critical industrial control systems and Operational Technology (OT) networks.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind plant-level industrial automation stability, cyber robustness, and Industry 4.0 evolution across Layer 0 to Layer 3 systems. You will bridge the gap between hands-on plant floor engineering and corporate cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring optimal line synchronization and zero unplanned downtime by design.
OT Security & Compliance Governance: Maintain and harden site cybersecurity across L0–L3 control networks, executing quarterly patch management and enforcing compliance with NIST and global corporate security standards.
Control Systems & Automation Lead: Oversee day-to-day operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, Servo drives, and motion control systems across process, utility, and high-speed packaging lines.
Industry 4.0 & Data Integration: Lead data pipeline deployments utilizing OPC UA, supporting IoT strategies and integrating plant equipment with enterprise MES and SQL data architectures.
Vendor & Project Execution: Coordinate 3rd-party integrators, automation suppliers, and internal engineering teams to ensure all CAPEX deployments and system modifications adhere to site standards.
Asset Lifecycle & Risk Management: Track digital asset inventories over their entire lifecycle, conduct risk assessments on the automation grid, and manage local OT roadmaps and budget allocations.
Automation Track Record: Strong hands-on background (minimum 4 years) as a Lead Automation or Controls Engineer within high-speed manufacturing environments (FMCG or Food & Beverage experience strongly preferred).
Rockwell Ecosystem Mastery: Deep technical expertise in Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation hardware and software suites (ControlLogix, FactoryTalk, ThinManager, Servo/Motion control).
OT & Network Security Capability: Solid practical understanding of industrial networking, firewalls, secure remote access, and OT cybersecurity practices (e.g., NIST / IEC 62443 principles).
Analytical & Crisis Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose complex control logic or network issues under operational pressure and implement robust technical solutions.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional plant leadership, corporate IT/Security units, and external engineering vendors.
Contract Flexibility: A 6- to 12-month B2B contractor engagement with strong potential for long-term project extensions.
Competitive Market Rates: Flexible, experience-aligned B2B rate model reflecting senior technical expertise.
High-Impact Ownership: Direct technical control over critical production systems within a state-of-the-art, iconic manufacturing facility.
Professional Autonomy: A strategic role offering the freedom to shape the site's digital roadmap and drive modern Industry 4.0 initiatives.
