Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Freelance OT Engineer with InfoSec knowledge to support OT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives across industrial environments. The contract is freelance with your own limited business setup, spanning Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Romania, and France (CDG only).

The role covers designing secure OT environments, managing network architectures, and leading incident response activities while aligning with IEC 62443 standards to ensure operational

Qualifications

• Experience as OT Engineer, Industrial Network Engineer, OT Security Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of ICT, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks.
• Experience with OT network architecture, system maintenance, and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with IEC 62443 or similar standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure OT environments (ICT, SCADA, PLCs).
• Manage OT network architecture, lifecycle, asset maintenance, and patch strategies.
• Support redundancy planning, DR, and high-availability for production environments.
• Perform OT risk assessments, vulnerability management, and network segmentation.

Job description

We're looking for a Freelance OT Engineer with InfoSec knowledge to support Operational Technology infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives across industrial environments.

Contract: Freelance (you must have your own limited business set up)

Location: Poland / Netherlands / Portugal / Germany / Romania / France (CDG only)

Duration: 1 year + possible extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure Operational Technology (OT) environments, including ICT, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial control systems
• Manage OT network architecture, system lifecycle, asset maintenance, upgrades, and patch management strategies
• Support redundancy planning, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for critical production environments
• Perform OT risk assessments, vulnerability management, and network segmentation to improve cybersecurity while maintaining operational continuity
• Implement and support secure remote access solutions and OT cybersecurity controls aligned with IEC 62443 and industry best practices
• Lead or support incident response, threat hunting, and security investigations within OT environments
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure secure and reliable industrial infrastructure

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an OT Engineer, Industrial Network Engineer, OT Security Engineer, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of Operational Technology environments, including ICT, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks
• Experience with OT network architecture, system maintenance, and lifecycle management
• Good understanding of OT cybersecurity principles, including network segmentation, vulnerability management, and secure remote access
• Familiarity with IEC 62443 or other industrial cybersecurity standards is highly desirable
• Experience supporting incident response, security monitoring, or threat hunting within OT environments is an advantage
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams
