CD PROJEKT RED in Warsaw is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to define and deliver high-quality real-time VFX for our first original IP. You will develop, prototype, and optimize VFX in Unreal Engine 5, working with cross-discipline teams to ensure cohesive player experiences.

The role is hybrid/on-site in Warsaw, with relocation support and a broad benefits package. Strong knowledge of UE5, Niagara, and real-time rendering is essential.

We’re looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join the CD PROJEKT RED team dedicated to crafting the studio’s first-ever original IP and video game, codenamed Project Hadar. You will define and deliver high-quality visual effects for Project Hadar, creating, prototyping, and optimizing real-time VFX while contributing to workflows and collaborating across disciplines.

(This position requires working in our Warsaw Hub. Hybrid working mode available.)

Daily Responsibilities

• Create, prototype, implement, and optimize high-quality visual effects in Unreal Engine 5.
• Develop particle systems and real-time VFX that support gameplay, characters, cinematics, and environments.
• Collaborate with artists, designers, programmers, and other disciplines to deliver cohesive player experiences.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of VFX workflows and pipelines.
• Research, prototype, and explore new techniques and technologies to enhance visual quality and production efficiency.
• Ensure VFX content meets quality, performance, and memory budgets.
• Debug, profile, and optimize visual effects throughout development.
• Share knowledge, provide technical guidance, and support the growth of fellow team members.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience creating real-time visual effects for games.
• Strong artistic sensibility, with a sharp eye for detail, composition, and motion.
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
• Expertise in real-time simulations and optimization.
• Advanced skills with VFX tools and pipelines, including Niagara.
• Understanding of rendering techniques, shaders, lighting, and real-time graphics.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization for real-time VFX.
• Commitment to taking ownership, sharing knowledge, and driving work independently.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn, experiment, and continuously improve.
• Clear and empathetic communication skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience with 3D software such as Houdini, Maya, or Blender is a plus.
• Experience with Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine.

Working mode

• In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw. Relocation is required.

Estimated pay range for this position

20 100 – 31 790 PLN gross monthly. Final offers depend on experience and qualifications.
