CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to join the Warsaw hub and contribute to Project Hadar using Unreal Engine 5. You will craft, prototype, and optimize real-time VFX for gameplay, cinematics, and environments within a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team.

This role requires ownership, passion for technical and artistic challenges, and the ability to push visual quality while meeting performance budgets. Hybrid/in-office in Warsaw with relocation support.

Qualifications

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join the CD PROJEKT RED team dedicated to crafting the studio’s first‑ever original IP and video game, codenamed Project Hadar. We believe the universe we are creating is one bursting with limitless potential, and we want you to help us broaden and utilize it, making sure it not only matches gamers’ high expectations set by past CD PROJEKT RED titles but exceeds them. As a Senior VFX Artist, you will play an important role in defining and delivering high-quality visual effects for Project Hadar. Working closely with artists, designers, programmers, and other disciplines, you will create, prototype, and optimize real-time VFX while contributing to workflows, sharing your expertise, and helping push the visual quality of the project. If you enjoy solving technical and artistic challenges, taking ownership of your work, and exploring new possibilities in real-time VFX, we’d love to hear from you. (This position requires working in our Warsaw Hub. Hybrid working mode available.)

Daily Responsibilities

• Create, prototype, implement, and optimize high-quality visual effects in Unreal Engine 5.

• Ensure VFX content meets quality, performance, and memory budgets.
• Debug, profile, and optimize visual effects throughout development.
• Share knowledge, provide technical guidance, and support the growth of fellow team members.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience creating real-time visual effects for games.
• Strong artistic sensibility, with a sharp eye for detail, composition, and motion.
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
• Expertise in real-time simulations and optimization.
• Advanced skills with VFX tools and pipelines, including Niagara.
• Understanding of rendering techniques, shaders, lighting, and real-time graphics.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization for real-time VFX.
• Commitment to taking ownership, sharing knowledge, and driving work independently.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn, experiment, and continuously improve.
• Clear and empathetic communication skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience with 3D software such as Houdini, Maya, or Blender is a plus.
• Experience with Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine.
