Job summary

Sopra Steria Polska is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Senior UNIX Automation Engineer) to automate and manage a large-scale Unix/Linux infrastructure. You will design automation, patching, and lifecycle operations, using Ansible, AAP, GitLab, and Python/Bash, in a Poland-based role with Katowice office presence.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people located in Poland and have EU citizenship. Salary range is disclosed during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience in large-scale environments.
• Hands-on with Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX (AAP), Red Hat Satellite, CFEngine.
• CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices in enterprise settings.
• Automation engineering background in complex infrastructures.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation for large-scale Unix/Linux environments.
• Create and optimize IaC workflows using Ansible and related tools.
• Provide 3rd-level support for automation platforms and Unix systems.
• Develop automated deployment, configuration, and orchestration processes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and operations teams to ensure reliability and security.
• Produce technical documentation and best-practice guides.
