Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a senior Mechanical/Thermal engineer in Kraków to model and design thermal components for power electronic converters and systems. You will push thermal performance and cooling solutions in a cross-functional team.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, CAD and CFD tooling expertise (Ansys IcePak), and strong communication in English. International collaboration and safety focus are key.

Qualifications

• Model and design thermal components for power electronic converters and cabinets.
• Solve the challenges and optimize the converter thermal system.
• Participate from idea generation, simulation, thermal design, prototyping and verification of new converter products.
• Take responsibility for specification, selection, qualification and verification of the thermal system.
• Support a fast, iterative design process in a cross-functional team with prototyping.
• Work in modern laboratories; test the thermal system in prototypes; evaluate design limits.
• Join an international environment at Hitachi Energy and grow within the company.
