Job summary

Hitachi Energy Krakow R&D team is seeking a senior power electronics engineer to develop a breakthrough modular converter platform using wide bandgap semiconductors. You will work in a cross-functional group with HW, control and mechanical engineers, focusing on efficiency, size and reliability.

The role requires an MSc/PhD in electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience, hands-on lab prototyping, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in power electronics.
Experience with development processes for power electronic converters.
Experience with laboratory equipment and converter prototyping/testing.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Design future converter technology and related subsystems from idea through verification.
Specify, select, qualify semiconductors and protection concepts.
Contribute to feasibility studies on converter topologies and grid applications.
Support fast, iterative design in a cross-functional team with rapid prototyping.
Build and maintain test setups to verify performance and efficiency.
Address EMC/EMI, thermal management and safety challenges.
Grow within Hitachi Energy in an international environment.
