Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Kraków is seeking a Senior R&D Project Manager for GI MACH to lead strategic product and technology development across hardware, software, FPGA, and system engineering. You will manage globally distributed teams in a matrix organization, align stakeholders, drive risk management, and deliver complex R&D programs in a fast-changing energy-tech environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, Industrial Management, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience leading R&D and product development projects in complex technology environments.
• Proven ability to manage project planning, governance, risk management and change control while engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex R&D product development projects with end-to-end accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams across the full product development lifecycle.
• Develop realistic project plans, manage risks, dependencies, and changes, and drive corrective actions when needed.
• Create alignment across product management, R&D, line management, quality, operations, and senior leadership to enable effective decision-making and execution.
• Ensure effective integration between technical disciplines, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and removing barriers that impact delivery.
• Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and escalation management to address challenges before they affect project outcomes.
• Translate complex technical topics into clear business-oriented recommendations and communicate project status, risks, and strategic decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams and across the organization.
