Itera is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a Norwegian product-focused team in Kraków. You will design and implement automated tests for UI and API using Playwright and TypeScript, drive shift-left practices, and help modernize the testing framework within a cross-functional, self-organized team.

The role emphasizes QA ownership, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with developers and stakeholders across international teams.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience in test automation.
Experience troubleshooting SW/system issues and identifying root causes of failures in automated tests.
Experience with building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
UI and API automation experience using Playwright + TypeScript.
Experience with API testing.
Experience with CI, build pipelines, and automated test execution.
English: upper intermediate, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated test documentation across the full testing lifecycle.
Engage in early-stage requirements review and shift-left testing to identify quality risks before development begins.
Develop and maintain automated UI and API test scripts using Playwright.
Execute and optimize large-scale regression, functional, and integration test suites.
Build, enhance, and modernize the test automation framework and reduce technical debt.
Communicate with stakeholders and developers to gather requirements and clarify acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a self-organized environment.
Critically evaluate AI-generated output to ensure quality, maintainability, security, and architectural alignment.
