Job summary

Altium Limited, part of the Renesas Group, seeks a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to develop the Altium 365 Platform. You will build cloud-native apps, scalable infrastructure, and advanced search capabilities, shaping platform features for electronics engineers.

You will work on distributed, high-load systems, influence architectural direction, and help define engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of .NET experience in commercial software development.
• Proven experience building and operating distributed, high-load systems.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and drive architecture.
• Experience defining engineering standards and platform governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native applications and scalable infrastructure for the Altium 365 Platform.
• Apply AI/ML to power advanced search capabilities and data access.
• Contribute to both stateful/stateless services, DB design and ORM usage.
• Collaborate across teams to shape platform direction and standards.

Your primary role will be product development for complex cloud applications with the Altium 365 Platform team.

What We're looking for

• 6+ years of .NET experience
• Deep expertise in one or more of these areas: identity and authentication, access or license management, message queues/brokers, distributed caches, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, relational database design and optimization, platform framework development, multi-tenancy, Rings Protection Model in clouddevelopment
• Proven experience building and operating distributed, high-load systems, including performance profiling, optimisation, load testing, and stress testing
• Strong ability to solve complex technical challenges that differ from typical market products, combining engineering software and cloud services
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and drive architectural decisions
• Experience defining and driving engineering standards, best practices, and technical governance at a platform level
