Altium Limited seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer (Java) to join the R&D team for Altium 365 cloud platform, building backend services and scalable infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver reliable, high-load cloud features, using Java, AWS, microservices and multi-tenant architectures. Proactive learning and ownership are valued.

Competenze

• Backend services and API design/development experience.
• Experience with AWS EC2, ECS and RDS.
• Understanding of microservices and multi-tenant architectures.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with distributed systems and production cloud environments.

Senior Software Development Engineer (Java)

Building new cloud-native applications and scalable infrastructure

Utilizing AI and ML to power advanced search capabilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, your primary focus will be developing complex cloud applications as part of the Altium 365 R&D team.

A Day in the Life of Our Senior Backend Developer

Work with Java, AWS, multi-tenant architecture, and distributed high-load systems.

Solve technical challenges at the intersection of engineering software, electronics, and cloud services.

Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver reliable, scalable features.

In a team, contribute to technical decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

Share knowledge and help strengthen the team’s engineering practices.

You are proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning.

Required Technology Experience

Experience designing and developing backend services and APIs.

Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, and RDS.

Understanding of microservices and multi-tenant architectures.

Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL.

Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Experience working with distributed systems and production cloud environments.

Nice to Have

Experience with .NET

Experience modernizing or integrating complex enterprise applications.

Knowledge of high-load systems, performance optimization, or cloud observability.

Experience with Firebird database.
