Job summary

Box Poland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Storage Clients team to scale an exabyte-scale platform. You will design and maintain backend services in Java or Scala, powering content ingress/egress across GCP and AWS regions.

You will collaborate in Agile ceremonies, lead on code quality, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor engineers. A strong background in distributed systems and a BS/MS/PhD in CS or Engineering is required, plus fluent English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Development experience in distributed systems.
• Proficient in Java or Scala and building high-quality software.
• Experience designing, building, deploying scalable distributed systems.
• Ownership mindset and accountability in delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Java or Scala.
• Model architectures for reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Plan and execute projects and quarterly deliverables.
• Measure performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and incident response.
