Job summary

Sennheiser is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to shape the software foundation for embedded wireless audio platforms. You will design and implement large, complex systems and modules that serve as reusable building blocks across multiple products and product families.

You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team from electronics, Audio DSP, RF and transmission systems. Your work ensures faster integration with predictible performance and high reliability, while mentoring

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software experience on real time operating systems.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong C/C++ for embedded software development.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M processors.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Modular, reusable design mindset and robust coding practices.
• Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Excellent cross-functional teamwork and communication.
• Proficient documentation skills and ability to communicate engineering intent.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or Zephyr RTOS is a plus.
• English proficiency for international collaboration.
• Firmware development for battery-powered devices.
• Experience with wireless interfaces and related stacks is a plus.
• Experience with software stacks development and maintenance is a plus.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Intro

We are looking for an Senior Embedded Software Engineer to help shape the software foundation for embedded wireless audio platforms. In this role, you will design and implementing large complex systems, platforms and modules that serve as reusable building blocks across multiple products and product families.

You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of development engineers from electronics, Audio DSP, RF and transmission systems. Your work ensures foundation and device teams to have the modules and components for integration faster with predictable performance, and high reliability.

Responsibilities

• Advanced embedded software development and leading the design and optimization of complex systems.
• Mentors junior engineers and drives innovation within projects.
• Close collaboration with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Delivering embedded software solutions that are reliable and meet high-quality standards.
• Ensure successful integration of embedded software components within larger projects
• Performs software debugging and conducts analysis of test results.
• Implementation supervision of the embedded software development team.
• Performing code review of code being developed in the team.
• Supporting the software and system architects on development planning and time estimation.
• Supporting main software technical decisions on platforms and systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development for real time operating systems.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, or a similar/related technical field.
• Solid knowledge of C/C++ language for embedded software.
• Experience with ARM Cortex M-profile processors.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to implement with modular thinking: reusability, robustness, and integration simplicity.
• Experience in development tools and systems, e.g. GitHub, Azure DevOps.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate engineering intent clearly.
• Practical knowledge of FreeRTOS or Zephyr operating systems.
• Proficiency in English for international cross-team collaboration.
• Experienced in firmware development for battery powered devices.
• Experience with wireless interfaces and their stacks is a plus.
• Experience with software stacks development and maintenance is a plus.
