Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Storage Engineering professional to design and maintain Akamai’s cloud storage platform within the Connected Cloud. You will help build scalable, secure storage solutions powering customer businesses.

You will design frontend applications and backend services, collaborate across platform services, and tackle complex performance challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent.
• Experience developing backend services using Python.
• Experience building modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks such as React.
• Good knowledge of HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL.
• Willingness to learn new frameworks and programming languages; strong communication with stakeholders.

Join the Akamai Storage Engineering team! Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Akamai’s cloud storage platform, an essential element of Akamai’s Connected Cloud platform. We provide a scalable and secure storage solution for our customers to build their businesses.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing frontend applications and supporting API services for cloud management solutions
• Integrating applications with platform services and downstream systems across Akamai’s cloud ecosystem
• Troubleshooting complex technical challenges and driving improvements to application quality, maintainability, and performance

Qualifications

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Demonstrate strong professional experience developing backend services using Python
• Possess experience building modern web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and frontend frameworks such as React
• Have good knowledge of Internet protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL
• Have willingness to learn new frameworks and programming languages
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
