Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking an early-career Network Infrastructure professional to join the Edge Platform team in Kraków. You will help maintain global platform infrastructure, work with a 24x7 shift-based operations team, and remotely diagnose hardware issues while coordinating with data centers and partners.

Qualifications

• Early-career proficiency in network environments backed by a formal technical background or equivalent practical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage remote and on-site hardware assets and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor alarms from servers, routers, switches, and operating systems.
• Respond to alerts according to SLA and assess severity.
• Diagnose switch and router problems to ensure Akamai platform stability.
• Collaborate with field technicians, data centers, and partners for installation and maintenance of Akamai Network Infrastructure.
• Support high-severity incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
• Develop and maintain alerts and runbooks to improve fault detection and visibility.
• Install, configure, and optimize network infrastructure and build operational tools and documentation.

The Edge Platform team oversees planning, building, maintaining, and operating the global platform. They design, develop, and deploy essential technologies. This includes hardware, software, and network infrastructure supporting Akamai's products. The team ensures reliable availability and optimal performance for customers.

Partner with the best

Join a highly skilled, 24x7 shift-based operations team responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and availability of large-scale network infrastructure. In this role, you will remotely diagnose hardware problems, facilitate equipment repairs, and manage hardware assets. You will also work with a worldwide team of field technicians and collaborate closely with external partners, data centers, and internet service providers.

Responsibilities

• Managing remote hardware assets and troubleshooting issues remotely
• Watching alarms from servers, routers, switches, and operating systems.
• Responding to alerts according to SLA and determine severity.
• Diagnosing switch and router problems to ensure stability of Akamai platform
• Working closely with field technicians, data centers, and Akamai partners for installation and maintenance of Akamai Network Infrastructure
• Supporting the resolution of high‑severity technical incidents
• Designing, developing, and maintaining alerts and runbooks to improve fault detection and operational visibility
• Installing, configuring, and optimizing network infrastructure while developing operational tools, automation, and technical documentation to support it effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Have early‑career proficiency in network environments backed by a formal technical background or equivalent practical expertise.
• Have experience in network technologies and basic knowledge of networking
• Have knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment
• Have experience with data center portals
• Have experience in a NOC or similar environment
• Possess professional problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

Working Schedule & Hours: Shift Pattern: 5 days on, 2 days off (including scheduled weekend shifts)
Working Hours: 10:30 - 19:00 CET / 11:30 - 20:00 CEST
