AgileEngine is seeking a senior Shopify developer to architect, build, and maintain high-performance eCommerce solutions. You will collaborate with senior engineers in a remote-first environment to shape the platform and contribute to code reviews and engineering excellence.

You’ll own features, optimize performance, and provide Shopify Plus expertise across projects for Fortune 500 brands and innovative startups. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Shopify development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and its features.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC and modern development methodologies.
• Experience with page performance optimization, front-end caching, CDNs, and secure development practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve site issues using tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-first mindset, patience and empathy.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and adaptability.
• Familiarity with Jira and collaborative environments.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Develop key system components and identify reusable modules; optimize delivery times.
• Perform deep code analysis, develop patches, and implement new platform features.
• Research platform capabilities and identify opportunities for the eCommerce roadmap.
• Collaborate with Product Management on system design and innovative solutions.
• Provide first-level Shopify technical support, troubleshoot issues, and conduct postmortems.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical validation.
• Work with the team to ensure security and performance best practices.
• Support project management with effort estimates and planning.
• Identify and remove technical roadblocks.
