Job summary

Sur Global is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to design and build scalable testing systems, platforms, and infrastructure that replicate real production conditions for a high-scale technology platform.

You will write production-quality code in TypeScript or Python, create testing environments, and work with cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare, while integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.

Qualifications

• Proficient in designing, building, and maintaining software systems.
• Strong coding skills in TypeScript or Python.
• Experience building automated testing systems or testing infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with load, performance, stress, or synthetic testing.
• Experience with large-scale applications serving millions of users.
• Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud/Cloudflare).
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English for distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable testing systems, platforms, and infrastructure that replicate real-world production conditions.
• Develop software and tooling to test performance, reliability, scalability, and infrastructure behavior at high traffic.
• Build and maintain load, performance, stress, and synthetic testing capabilities for global applications.
• Create testing environments and processes that validate production-scale deployments.
• Write high-quality code in TypeScript or Python to support testing tools and automation.
• Integrate automated testing and quality validation into CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
• Work with cloud-hosted applications across AWS, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, or similar providers.
• Use Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent IaC tools to support repeatable testing environments.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to understand system architecture and constraints.
• Analyze test results and production-like workloads to identify scalability risks.
• Help establish technical standards and processes for a new engineering-focused testing function.
