Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior SAP Master Data Consultant to design, implement, and support SAP IS Retail master data solutions. You will translate complex business needs into scalable, integrated solutions across formats, channels, and countries, while collaborating with stakeholders and offshore teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

You will lead workshops, develop WRICEF specifications, and work across SAP modules to maintain master data objects like Article, Site, and pricing conditions,

Qualifications

• 10+ years SAP implementation experience including 7+ years in SAP IS Retail.
• Knowledge of SAP IS Retail master data processes (Article, sites, customer, vendor and info records, pricing conditions).
• Ability to translate requirements into functional specifications with technical details.
• Experience with ALE/EDI, IDocs, APIs, OData, and middleware such as SAP PI/PO and MuleSoft.
• Hands-on SAP configuration (IMG) and creating custom Fiori apps for master data maintenance.
• Familiarity with parameterization frameworks and value mapping logic.
• Experience integrating master data with POS, WMS, eCommerce and third-party systems.
• Mass update tooling (LSMW and custom tools) to manage master data.
• Understanding end-to-end retail processes: P2P, Merchandising, O2C, and FI integration.
• Analytical skills to translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate with dev teams.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior SAP Master Data Consultant to join our team and drive the design, implementation, and support of SAP IS Retail master data solutions. In this role, you will translate complex business needs into scalable, integrated solutions across multiple formats, channels, countries, and business models, while collaborating closely with stakeholders and offshore teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into advanced capabilities using best-in-class standard packages
• Identify necessary localization or enhancements, supported by clear business cases
• Create functional requirements to guide application design and development
• Propose solutions, configure the system, and write detailed WRICEF functional specifications
• Coordinate with offshore development teams to ensure technical solutions align with functional requirements and quality standards
• Conduct unit and functional testing, and support integration and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Deliver best-in-class, scalable, sustainable, and integrated business solutions across multiple formats, channels, countries, and business models
• Contribute to change management efforts by providing training content and supporting organizational transformation
• Provide 3rd level functional support, application administration, and troubleshooting across all European Operating Companies in scope
• Collaborate with peers across applications and modules to ensure seamless integration
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure optimal cooperation within your area of expertise
• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements and promote continuous improvement by regularly evaluating work processes and user experiences

Requirements

• 10+ years of prior experience implementing SAP applications from design to Go-Live, with a minimum of 7 years in SAP IS Retail functionalities
• Knowledge of SAP IS Retail master data business processes (Article, sites, customer, vendor and info records, pricing conditions, article hierarchies)
• Expertise in business change, escalation, process management, and business systems requirements definition
• Capability to deliver best-in-class SAP solutions with high-quality design based on complex business requirements
• Understanding of SAP IS Retail architecture, data model, and business processes, including managing core master data objects (Article, Site, customer/vendor/purchase info records, assortments, pricing conditions, article hierarchies)
• Proficiency in the enhancement process of master data objects with additional fields in standard and custom tables, screens, and tabs, including building custom validations for data governance
• Hands-on experience with SAP configuration (IMG) and creating custom Fiori apps for master data maintenance (article, vendor, customer, site, assortments)
• Familiarity with parameterization frameworks and value mapping logic
• Skills in integrating master data objects with POS, WMS, and eCommerce platforms and other third-party systems
• Background in system integration and building interfaces using ALE/EDI frameworks, IDocs, and file transfers (CSV, XML, JSON), as well as APIs, OData, and middleware such as SAP PI/PO and MuleSoft
• Expertise in standard IDocs, creation of custom message types, and extension of standard IDocs, along with standard BAPIs, function modules, RFCs, user exits, and creating custom ones as needed
• Competency in using standard mass update tools, LSMW, and creating custom mass update tools per requirements
• Understanding of end-to-end retail processes - P2P (SAP MM), Merchandising, O2C (SAP SD), and integration between modules including FI
• Qualifications in analyzing and solutioning requirements, translating them into functional specifications with technical details, and liaising with the development team during the development phase
