Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Consumer team in Poland. You will own architecture and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences, and ship end-to-end features with a strong focus on user experience.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team initiatives, and apply AI-enabled approaches to coding and validation. A track record of production architectural decisions and a product-minded mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with Rust across distributed systems.
• Ownership of systems and architectural decisions in production.
• Product engineering mindset with measurable impact.
• Experience mentoring and setting standards.
• Experience leading cross-team initiatives.
• AI-first development approach using AI for coding and understanding code.
• Ownership mindset across backend/frontend boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences.
• Take ambiguous problems from concept to shipped and measured with cross-team coordination.
• Own features end-to-end, beyond API/backend boundaries, with strong customer impact.
• Collaborate with product leadership to shape roadmaps and define success metrics.
• Drive cross-team initiatives across Kraken's trading infrastructure and platform.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, review designs, and propagate patterns and standards.
• Apply AI extensively to amplify scope and speed in development.
