Job summary

Aviva plc is seeking a Date Engineering Technical Lead to shape our enterprise data foundations and lead a cross-functional team in building a cloud-native ODS platform. You will own delivery, drive scalable data pipelines, and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka/MSK, AWS Glue, and containerised services.

You will mentor engineers, break down architecture into actionable tasks, review code, and ensure quality while promoting best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven expertise in Kafka and event-driven architectures (MSK preferred).
• Experience building scalable data ingestion, processing and movement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of data and backend engineers.
• Guide development of Kafka/MSK based streaming pipelines and AWS Glue ETL jobs.
• Ensure delivery of scalable, resilient systems and promote best practices across the codebase.
