Job summary

First Advantage Global operating Centre in Kraków, Poland, is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a hybrid team. You will build and maintain automated test suites for UI and API, strengthen CI/CD pipelines, and ensure our distributed SaaS ecosystem remains robust, scalable, and reliable.

The role is hands-on, collaborative, and focused on continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning manual and automated testing, defect reporting, test plan creation, and ensuring acceptance

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in QA automation or test engineering.
• Familiarity with writing test cases, test plans, and defect documentation.
• Understanding of functional testing, regression testing, and user-flow validation.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation.
• Understanding of WebdriverIO and/or Playwright.
• Proven ability to automate UI, API, and integration scenarios.
• Familiar with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer in Kraków, Poland. This is a Hybrid work position, and individual will be required to report into our Kraków, Office 2-3 days per week.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer you will help drive quality across our distributed SaaS ecosystem. You will build and maintain automated test suites, strengthen our CI/CD pipelines, and ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and reliable.

This is a hands‑on engineering role within a modern, collaborative team focused on continuous improvement, transparency, and delivering high‑impact products.

What You’ll Do:

Manual & Exploratory Testing

• Execute manual test cases for UI, API, and end‑to‑end user workflows.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and user‑impacting defects.
• Document clear, reproducible bug reports and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Validate business requirements and user acceptance criteria through hands‑on testing.

Automation Engineering

• Develop and maintain automated tests for UI, API, microservices, and integration layers.
• Contribute to scalable, reusable automation frameworks stored in GitHub.
• Create validations for distributed systems, service‑to‑service interactions, queues, and API contracts.

Quality Ownership

• Work closely with developers and product partners to understand story details and test requirements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable execution.
• Support exploratory, UAT, and end‑to‑end testing for user‑focused scenarios.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in code reviews, GitHub workflows, and team automation practices.
• Engage in team learning sessions and internal quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute ideas to improve testing approaches and overall product quality.

What You Bring:

Core Skills

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in QA automation or test engineering.
• Familiarity with writing test cases, test plans, and defect documentation.
• Understanding of functional testing, regression testing, and user‑flow validation
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation.
• Understanding of WebdriverIO and/or Playwright.
• Proven ability to automate UI, API, and integration scenarios.
• Familiar with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud platforms.

Tooling & Engineering Basics

• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM).
• Awareness of CI/CD principles is beneficial.

Data & Application Knowledge

• Ability to write and understand basic SQL queries.
• Good understanding of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM).
