Astek is seeking a QA Engineer – Manual Testing for a biotechnology client. The role involves hands-on testing of complex systems, including embedded software, and creating robust test coverage from requirements.

Responsibilities include designing and executing tests, reporting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software testing.
• Hands-on manual testing of complex systems, embedded or system-level software.
• Experience creating, maintaining and executing test cases and documentation.
• Analyze requirements/specs (SRS/SDS) for test coverage.
• Strong defect reporting and issue tracking experience.
• Implement test strategies and adapt testing approaches.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, Office 365.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies and tools (Polarion, HP ALM/QC).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Comfort with documentation and regulated environments.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and translate into test coverage.
• Create, maintain and execute test cases, scenarios and docs.
• Perform manual testing of complex systems (embedded/system-level).
• Develop and implement test strategies based on project needs.
• Execute tests, identify defects and report bugs clearly.
• Monitor progress and ensure alignment with quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, product owners to resolve issues.
• Contribute to process improvements in QA practices.
• Work with JIRA, Confluence, Polarion, HP ALM/QC, MS Teams and Office 365.
• Support testing across multiple projects and adapt to changes.
