Job summary

R Systems is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our dynamic team in Poland. You'll collaborate with senior engineers to drive quality across enterprise applications in a Scrum environment, focusing on automation and regression testing.

You’ll use Java, Selenium WebDriver, SoapUI, JUnit and TestNG to design and execute tests, script automation, and verify data with SQL queries. This role includes hybrid work and opportunities for certifications and professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer.
• Experience of Agile methodologies (e.g. SAFe).
• Automated testing design and script writing experience for enterprise applications using end-user testing approaches.
• Experience with Java Selenium WebDriver.
• Knowledge of testing tools like SoapUI, JUnit, TestNG.
• Experience with at least one scripting language.
• Experience with BDD Testing.
• ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate or equivalent.
• Practical knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2, SQL Server) and ability to write basic SQL queries for test verification.
• Strong test analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience coordinating with client leads.

Responsibilities

• Work within a Scrum team to ensure successful delivery based on features and user stories definitions.
• Attend daily Scrum, regular retrospectives and demonstrations.
• Participate in innovation-focused cycles and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Test design and execution covering Functional, End-to-End, UI, Workflow, Non-Functional, Maintenance and Regression testing (cloud and on-premise).
• Automation of test cases following best practice guidelines.
• Manual test execution using scripted and exploratory approaches.
• Test and defect tracking following Agile practices.
• Coordinate with Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers and clients to ensure delivery.

Your Contribution

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer
• Experience of Agile methodologies (e.g. SAFe)
• Automated software testing design and script writing experience, preferably in an end user testing of enterprise thin client software applications.
• Experience using Java Selenium WebDriver
• Knowledge of testing tools like SoapUI, Junit, TestNG
• Experience with at least one scripting language
• Experience with BDD Testing
• Insurance Business experience and knowledge a distinct advantage
• Minimum of ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate in Software Testing or an equivalent qualification
• Practical knowledge of Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server) and an ability to write and run basic SQL queries as part of test verification
• Strong Test Analysis/troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of working directly with Client Leads
• Ability to multi task, use own initiative and work to tight deadlines

• Participate and contribute to regular Innovation-focussed cycles
• Test Analysis and Design based on feature documents and other supporting documentation
• Test creation and execution, based on industry best practises and experience covering Functional, End-to-End, UI, Workflow, Non-Functional, Maintenance and Regression testing performed on Cloud-based and on-premise environments.
• Automation of test cases based on best practice guidelines
• Manual test execution using a mix of scripted and non-scripted (exploratory) testing
• Test & Defect Tracking based on Agile best practice
• Liaise with other Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, System Support teams and Clients to ensure a successful delivery
• Represent the client, with a focus on functional and non-functional testing with UX central to success delivery
• Provide input to the planning, resourcing, scheduling and monitoring of project test tasks and activities for Agile projects
• Troubleshoot and analyse issues and suggest solutions/workarounds
• Demonstrate features at Sprint and PI level
• Provide mentoring and guidance to team members
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance the Test Process and improve overall Quality Assurance practices
• Contribute to evolving strategies via inspect and adapt, communities of practice and knowledge sharing sessions
