Job summary

R Systems is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our Agile team. You will collaborate with senior engineers to drive quality, design tests, and contribute to automation across cloud and on-premise environments.

The role requires 5+ years of QA experience, strong Java Selenium WebDriver skills, and a solid grasp of SAFe and BDD practices. Excellent communication with Client Leads is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer.

• Automated testing design and scripting experience for enterprise applications.

• Knowledge of SoapUI, JUnit, TestNG.
• Experience with at least one scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Work within a Scrum team to ensure successful delivery based on definition of done.
• Attend daily Scrum meetings and regular retrospectives and demonstrations.
• Participate in regular innovation-focused cycles.
• Design and execute tests covering functional, E2E, UI, and regression areas.
• Automate test cases and conduct manual exploratory testing.
• Track tests and defects following Agile best practices.
• Coordinate with other teams, Product Owners, and clients to ensure delivery.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to test process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer
• Experience of Agile methodologies (e.g. SAFe)
• Automated software testing design and script writing experience, preferably in an end user testing of enterprise thin client software applications.
• Experience using Java Selenium WebDriver
• Knowledge of testing tools like SoapUI, Junit, TestNG
• Experience with at least one scripting language

• Insurance Business experience and knowledge a distinct advantage
• Minimum of ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate in Software Testing or an equivalent qualification
• Practical knowledge of Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server) and an ability to write and run basic SQL queries as part of test verification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of working directly with Client Leads

Responsibilities:

• Work within a Scrum team to ensure a successful delivery, based on definition of done of features and user stories
• Attend daily Scrum meetings and regular retrospectives and demonstrations
• Participate and contribute to regular Innovation-focussed cycles
• Test Analysis and Design based on feature documents and other supporting documentation
• Test creation and execution, based on industry best practises and experience covering Functional, End-to-End, UI, Workflow, Non-Functional, Maintenance and Regression testing performed on Cloud-based and on-premise environments.
• Automation of test cases based on best practice guidelines
• Manual test execution using a mix of scripted and non-scripted (exploratory) testing
• Test & Defect Tracking based on Agile best practice
• Liaise with other Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, System Support teams and Clients to ensure a successful delivery
• Represent the client, with a focus on functional and non-functional testing with UX central to success delivery
• Provide input to the planning, resourcing, scheduling and monitoring of project test tasks and activities for Agile projects
• Troubleshoot and analyse issues and suggest solutions/workarounds
• Demonstrate features at Sprint and PI level
• Provide mentoring and guidance to team members
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance the Test Process and improve overall Quality Assurance practices
• Contribute to evolving strategies via inspect and adapt, communities of practice and knowledge sharing sessions
