Job summary

Netflix seeks a Solutions Support Engineer to help engineers build, debug, and operate applications on our Python developer platform and paved paths. This is a hands-on role for solving hard technical problems, improving developer workflows, and turning recurring issues into better tools and platform capabilities.

You will debug across Python apps, build tooling and diagnostics, and become a trusted expert on Netflix’s Python platform.

Qualifications

• Experience building, debugging, or operating production systems.
• Proficiency in Python with debugging and production code contributions.
• Understanding of Python packaging and dependencies (pip, pyproject.toml, virtual environments, wheels).
• Experience with Python frameworks/tools such as FastAPI and Flask.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools to troubleshoot, automate, and accelerate engineering work.
• Experience debugging unfamiliar codebases and diagnosing issues across multiple layers of a system, including dependencies, CI/CD, runtime, concurrency, distributed systems, or service-to-service integrations.
• Ability to read and reason about framework and library internals for deep debugging.
• Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous technical problems and drive toward resolution.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Interest in improving developer productivity and workflows at scale.

Responsibilities

• Debug complex issues across Python apps, frameworks, dependencies, CI/CD, runtimes, and platform integrations.
• Build tooling, automation, and diagnostics to prevent and resolve problems.
• Become a trusted expert on Netflix’s Python platform and developer tooling.
• Turn recurring developer pain points into improvements in tooling, documentation, workflows, and platform capabilities.
• Partner with Python Platform and other engineering teams to solve cross-system problems.
