Job summary

Fliff is looking for a Senior Python Engineer to help build the core systems behind our sports data platform. You’ll work close to the domain: events, leagues, markets, odds, scores, and provider edges to ensure data is correct, timely, observable, and resilient when feeds fail.

You’ll join a squad where engineering decisions shape product impact and real-time experiences across Fliff. You’ll collaborate with backend, product, QA, and data teams to deliver dependable data flows and to improve

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Python experience in backend services.
• Strong Django experience with asyncio.
• Production experience with Kafka and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to reason about data correctness and failure modes.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services for data ingestion and processing.
• Integrate with third-party data providers and handle provider model differences.
• Build reliable near real-time and batch data pipelines.
• Improve validation, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, and replay tooling.
• Collaborate with backend, product, QA, and platform teams; mentor squad members.
