Job summary

Luxoft Germany in Kraków seeks a senior Python developer to lead the build of a new data and application platform within an investment banking context.

You will design, develop, and maintain backend services, optimize data pipelines on Databricks, and guide the team on architecture and best practices while mentoring colleagues through code reviews and pair programming. Strong Python and ETL background required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Python development skills.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and SQL databases.
• Oracle SQL knowledge with performance tuning.
• Unix/Linux environment and shell scripting.
• Experience scheduling with Autosys.
• Background in Java or C# development is a plus.
• Automated testing of data pipelines and applications.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Python.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and workloads on Databricks.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Advise and guide the team on architecture and best practices.
• Mentor developers via code reviews and pair programming.
• Define and consume RESTful APIs and communicate requirements clearly.
• Translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Apply clean code principles and improve engineering standards.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit/integration).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate with QA, PMs, and architects.
