Job summary

Software Mind is seeking a Proxmox Engineer for a three-month full-time assignment with a Dutch client. The role focuses on validating Proxmox environments, sizing, and stabilisation, with knowledge transfer to the client's engineers and a remote, international collaboration setup.

You will work across assessment, remediation, and documentation phases, reporting progress to Netherlands-based engineers and managers, while ensuring best practices and end-to-end backup validation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT infrastructure and virtualization.
• Minimum 2 years with Proxmox VE in production.
• OpenStack and Ceph experience is a plus.
• English at C1 for client communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing Proxmox VE environments (cluster, storage, networking, HA, backup) against best practices.
• Identify gaps, single points of failure, and risks; propose remediation.
• Verify sizing against load; confirm platform stability.
• Implement corrections; confirm they work.
• Validate backup and end-to-end restore processes.
• Coordinate with OpenStack team to support required platform layers.
• Produce documentation and runbooks for client use.
• Transfer knowledge to client engineers.
