Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Product Compliance Engineer to join our team in Katowice, Poland. This role focuses on improving certification activities for VFDs, coordinating with global certification bodies, and ensuring adherence to RoHS and REACH across products.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, support supplier alignment, and participate in cross-functional projects. The position offers a hybrid schedule in Katowice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or product development engineering environment in electrical/electronic industry.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience managing a high volume of complex and ambiguous work while maintaining quality.
  • Experience in product and environmental compliance, testing, and new product development processes.
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure completion of product compliance deliverables related to UL/CSA, IEC/EN, and other global and local standards and their derivatives and environmental regulations such as RoHS and REACH.
  • Design reviews, certification processes, test plan development, documentation, and implementation for both new and existing products.
  • Serve as the primary product compliance interface with internal teams and external certification bodies, including domestic and third-party safety agencies and marine/hazLoc environments.
  • Lead projects to implement changes to products and processes in response to new or updated safety certification requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory trends and communicate updates to impacted business groups.
  • Support strategic sourcing and suppliers to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Product Compliance Engineer to join our team in Katowice.

Product Compliance Engineer, you will improve certification activities, including monitoring, supporting, and adapting existing certifications, and securing new approvals for newly developed variable frequency drives (VFDs).

With your expertise, you will support employees in understanding and applying standardization requirements across multiple certification bodies.

You will also serve as the primary contact with relevant certification agencies and actively participate in cross-functional projects.

You will report to the Manager and have a dotted-line connection to the global PCE organization to ensure alignment and consistency of local activities with the global business strategy.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule based in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensure completion of product compliance deliverables related to UL/CSA, IEC/EN, and other global and local standards and their derivatives and environmental regulations such as RoHS and REACH.
  • This includes compliance assessments, design reviews, certification processes, test plan development, documentation, and implementation for both new and existing products.
  • Serve as the primary product compliance interface with internal teams and external certification bodies, including domestic and third-party safety agencies (UL, CSA, DEKRA, FM, etc.), marine agencies, and hazardous location (HazLoc) environments.
  • Participate in and lead projects to implement changes to products and processes in response to new or updated safety certification requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to monitor and analyze regulatory trends and communicate relevant updates to impacted business groups.
  • Support strategic sourcing and suppliers to ensure the supply chain is aligned with Rockwell Automation compliance requirements.
The Essentials – You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Computer Engineering (or a related field), with a understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or product development engineering environment in the electrical/electronic industry.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience managing a high volume of complex and ambiguous work while maintaining quality.
  • Experience in product and environmental compliance, testing, and new product development processes.
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives will be an advantage.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products.
