Job summary

Umicore is seeking a senior Process Engineer to drive production quality and efficiency in its Battery Materials Solutions unit. You will analyze process data, lead optimization efforts, and support technology transfers and capital projects.

The role requires a strong background in process development, equipment qualification, and PFMEA/DFMEA methods, with English proficiency and a track record of collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• More than 8 years of experience within a relevant manufacturing or process industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, process technology development, or R&D project management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production processes and product quality through visual inspections, data analysis, and SPC.
• Develop reprocessing plans to minimize losses related to non-conforming products.
• Support Production teams in resolving complex process-related challenges and quality concerns.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects focused on throughput enhancement and CAPEX/OPEX optimization.
• Coordinate process-related activities within engineering and capital projects.
