Job summary

WSI is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the local accounting team in Radom and ensure accurate financial records with robust internal controls. You will oversee Polish statutory and tax compliance (VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK), coordinate the month‑end close with the Finance Manager, and prepare annual statutory statements and audits.

The role requires a Master's degree in Accounting or related field, 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in Poland, and strong Oracle and Excel

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in Poland, including senior role.
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team.
• Knowledge of Polish Accounting Act and Polish tax regulations (VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK, e-Sprawozdania).
• Experience with Polish Tax Office, ZUS and auditors.
• Strong Oracle and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Accounting qualification such as SKwP, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous.
• Ability to commute to Radom and work full-time from the office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the local accounting team, ensuring appropriate allocation of duties and effective internal controls.
• Ensure timely compliance with Polish statutory and tax obligations, including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK and reporting to ZUS.
• Take formal responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and legal compliance of the company's accounting records, chart of accounts and accounting policies.
• Coordinate the month-end closing process with the Finance Manager and Finance Director.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and submit them through the e-Sprawozdania system.
• Lead the annual statutory audit and act as the main contact for auditors, the Tax Office and ZUS.
• Reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
• Review and approve supplier payment batches prepared in Oracle.
• Oversee receivables management and ensure ageing reports are reviewed and shared with stakeholders.
• Monitor provisions, fixed assets and profitability of workshop activities.
• Perform other duties related to the position as required
