Job summary

Sybilla Technologies designs, builds, and operates robotic optical observatories for space monitoring, based in Bydgoszcz, Poland. We seek a Principal Accountant to lead and develop the accounting function for our Poland operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial closing.

You will work with the Head of International Accounting, Tax, and Statutory Reporting to drive process improvements and support audits, while overseeing VAT, CIT, and other tax matters.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• 7+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience as Senior Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant, or Chief Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of the Polish Accounting Act and tax regulations.
• Experience managing audits and inspections.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Polish Accounting Act, tax regulations and internal policies.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and approvals, ensuring accuracy of records.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Oversee VAT, CIT, withholding tax and other tax obligations and regulatory reporting.
• Drive transition of accounting activities from outsourced providers to in-house.
• Ensure correct accounting for grants, subsidies, and co-financed projects.
• Coordinate statutory audits, tax inspections, and due diligence activities.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the accounting team.
• Drive automation and process improvements.
