Job summary

MKS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (PLC Developer) in Poznań to design, develop, and maintain PLC control logic for automation projects. You will work with engineering and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality software.

Lead the development using JScript and IEC 61131-3 languages, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor junior engineers while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing software for PLC-based automation systems.
• Strong experience with JScript or similar scripting languages.
• Hands-on experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages, ST and SFC.
• Knowledge of EtherCAT, CANBus, PROFIBUS, and OPC UA.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing PLC-based automation systems.
• Understanding of industrial automation and SCADA environments.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-focused mindset.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC control logic using JScript and IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Design automation solutions meeting customer requirements with reliability, performance, and safety.
• Integrate PLC systems with industrial equipment and business applications via networks and protocols.
• Configure and support EtherCAT, CANBus, PROFIBUS, and OPC UA.
• Test, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems for efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects.
• Provide technical support to customers by diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Promote software quality through documentation and code reviews.
• Mentor and support junior engineers; promote continuous learning.
• Make safety the top priority and ensure compliance with standards.
