Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to serve as a senior technical force multiplier across integrations, workflows & orchestration, and data management. You will embed with whichever team needs the most help at a given time, writing production-quality code and unblocking the hardest technical problems.

You will report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and collaborate with engineering leaders to turn ambiguity into well-architected solutions and to raise the engineering

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with senior or staff leadership experience.
• Backend distributed systems design/operation at scale with Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js (NestJS).
• Experience building integrations with CRM/marketing automation/data warehouse platforms.
• Proven ability to influence without authority across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Strong track record leading modernization, reliability, and observability initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Integrations, Workflows & Orchestration, and Data Management teams on a rotating basis, writing production-quality code and unblocking hard problems.
• Define and evolve scalable, fault-tolerant, event-driven architecture on Java/Spring Boot, Node.js/NestJS, Kafka, and orchestration platforms.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for high-severity issues.
• Drive platform modernization by consolidating integration patterns and improving observability.
• Establish best practices for idempotency, retries, error handling, state management, and API/webhook versioning.
• Shape multi-quarter roadmaps with leadership and product to align feasibility, sizing, and risk.
