Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and maintain internal platforms that empower development teams with self-service tools and smooth workflows. The role emphasizes GenAI-enabled capabilities and strong platform health.

You will collaborate with Dev, Ops, and Security to implement high-availability architectures, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and IaC practices across clouds.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of platform engineering or related roles.
• Strong CI/CD, DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with AWS/Azure/GCP and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep and GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD).
• Familiarity with Crossplane, Pulumi, AWS Controllers for Kubernetes.
• Experience with internal developer platforms like Backstage, Humanitec, or OpsLevel.
• Knowledge of HA, multi-data center, hybrid cloud environments.
• Scripting in Bash, Shell, or Python.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain internal platforms enabling self-service deployment and management of applications.
• Develop standardized tools, frameworks, and libraries to streamline workflows across teams.
• Guide adoption of AI technologies on the platform (GenAI, AI agents, AIOps) to improve developer productivity and operations.
• Integrate various development tools and services within the platform ecosystem.
• Enhance developer experience through documentation, training, and platform support.
• Implement strategies to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of platforms.
• Utilize DORA metrics to assess and improve software delivery and operational processes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams for seamless application support.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve platform-related issues and improve system health.
