Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Warsaw seeks a Principal Engineer to lead licensing, regulatory, and environmental permitting activities for AP1000 deployments and future technologies. The role requires a senior technical authority and cross-functional collaboration with regulators, customers, and engineers.

You will report to the Senior Manager, operate in a hybrid model with 2 days in the office, and guide teams toward compliant licensing outcomes across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of applicable experience.
• Fluent knowledge of Polish and English.
• Demonstrated expertise in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, waste management, environmental permitting, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience with Polish nuclear legislation and regulatory processes.
• Familiarity with international nuclear safety standards and regulatory frameworks, including IAEA guidance and European nuclear regulatory practices.
• Experience resolving complex technical and regulatory challenges.
• Availability to travel 10-20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex nuclear licensing, waste management, environmental permitting, and regulatory projects.
• Develop, review, and provide technical oversight of licensing basis documents, regulatory submissions, and safety documentation.
• Provide SME guidance on Polish regulations and international regulatory practices.
• Lead technical discussions with regulators, customers, and partners.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and external experts to ensure successful licensing outcomes.
• Identify process improvements and licensing efficiency opportunities.
